February 19 ~

For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. -- For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him. To Him be glory forever! ... Who has commanded and it came to pass, unless the LORD has ordained it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and evil come? ... And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose ... to be conformed to the image of his Son ...

Not only warfare crowdeth me to Christ
but all things taking place within my life.
For all's from Thee that comes to me - all things! -
and all of it works for my Good! Life brings
not one thing that will contradict this rule!
To elsewise view life is to be a ... fool ...
insults, demeans Thy wondrous sov'reignty.
Lo! naught takes place lest it's ordained by Thee!
Hence ev'ry pain, affliction, accident
doth bless me! For my Good by Thee 'twas sent!
What is the Good? That I be full conformed
to Thine Own Image, be in fact reborn
by cleaving to Thee -- out of Self's dark womb!

Through birth's travail do I escape Earth's tomb!
