Conversational Prayer-Sonnets and Scriptures

February 20 ~

You have been involved in no trials except those which are part of the human situation. You can rely on God not to allow you to be tested beyond what you are able to cope with. No! When trial comes he will send you along with it the way out of it, to enable you to bear it ... God can be trusted not to allow you to suffer any temptation beyond your powers of endurance. He will see to it that every temptation has a way out ... Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort, or fall into various temptations ... I can do all things through Christ ... all things in him ... the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him ...
1 Cor.10:13 (Bar,JBP); Js.1:2 (Amp); Phil.4:13 (KJV,RSV); 1 Cor.6:17 (Amp)

What if what comes is purely an attack
by Satan -- he who always wants me back?

No trial, temptation ever comes to thee
that's not ordained and monitored by Me
-- designed to work for Good! Count it all joy
whate'er travail I see fit to employ.
Child, I would see thee in such harmony
with Me that of one Spirit - Mine! - we'll be!

Then all that comes to me works to that end?

By now thou should know this! Yes, all I send!

In constant converse Thou'd have me with Thee?

Yes! Constant! Constant! Constant! Constantly!

Forgive me. I so slowly learn these things.

'Tis My longsuff'ring thy salvation brings!

... account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation ... You must regard our Lord's patience as your opportunity of salvation ... Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength [His might and inflexibility to temptation, seek and require His face and His presence continually] evermore ... abide in Him ... live in him ...
2Pet.3:15 (KJV,Bar); Ps.105:4 (Amp); 1 Jn.2:28 (NAS); Col.2:6 (RSV).
