I am the LORD; there is no other god ... I create both light and darkness; I bring both blessing and disaster ... I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things ... in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose ... set apart to become like his Son ... to make us his children and set our whole being free ...

I can't believe a God of Love could send
disasters, evil - Satan! - down on men.
A loving God from darkness bring forth Light?
Have purpose positive in poor man's plight?
Affliction, suff'ring use as shaping tools
to forge, refine - make wise men out of fools?
And that He'd destine men -- select their fates?
The very thought my soul infuriates!
What's that? Thou say He nonetheless gives choice?
That I can sink or swim, gloom or rejoice?
That He, in Love, hath given me free will
to choose twixt Light and dark, twixt Good and ill?
That He, Who's perfect, deals in absolutes
and perfect flowers starts from wretched roots.
