Thou say that He, my God, Who shapeth me
from common clay - from mire! - would set me free
-- would separate me from my nat'ral roots
and graft me to Himself: that perfect shoots
the Gard'ner-Potter-Father doth create;
that Perfect Love, the antonym of hate
and Perfect Truth, the antonym of lies
and Perfect Wisdom (which all fools despise!)
be petals of the Flowers of Righteousness
God cultivates down here 'midst Earth's duress;
that out of falsehood, evil, darkness - sin! -
He doth produce their total antonym:
Children of Light -- of His Own Purity!
From absolute to absolute brings He!
