What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes ... "What is man that you make so much of him, that you give him so much attention, that you examine him every morning and test him every moment ... O watcher of men?" ... Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus ... "for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned" ...Audition
This earthly life? A passing scene, soon done --
a preamble designed for gath'ring facts
in preparation for what is to come ...
Which means, thus, that the play's main theme and acts
await the curtain! This place? Made for trial!
-- a platform for brief dramas, caref'ly staged,
where hopefuls are auditioned, try out while
their actions - their performances - are gauged
by the Director. He selects a cast!
There's many called, but few are chosen! O
dear Jesus, while this earthly scene doth last
be Thou my very Life until I go
out by the wings! Abide in me, so I
won't shrink in shame beneath Thy searching eye!
