Conversational Prayer-Sonnets and Scriptures

March 20 ~

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is not one who does good, not even one. Will evildoers never learn ...?
Ps.14:1-3,4 (NIV)

The Ultimate Oxymoron: Atheist Morality*

True moral codes prepared by atheists?
Well, moral codes such people will prepare
but if, to them, God just does not exist
(and never did!), by definition their
codes will be godless in both content, aim!
How can codes Godly be when "God" itself
(the term) is meaningless and prompts disdain?
What's left to man is an ungodly self
-- an offspring Chance brought forth from random schemes:
an accidental being born amidst
a purposeless domain! Of Self's dead dreams,
becoming nightmares, must such codes consist.
Naught can there be in them that is Divine!

God save us from the follies of man's mind!

I say to the LORD, "Thou art my Lord; I have no good apart from thee" ... my goodness cometh from thee ... 'Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them" ... All who keep his commandments abide in him, and he in them ... in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith ... He who trusts in his own mind is a fool ...
Ps.16:2 (RSV,Lam); Matt.5:17 (RSV); 1 Jn.3:24 (RSV); Rom.1:17 (Amp); Prov.28:26 (RSV).
