A Sense of Wonder? Man hath Wonder slain
by claiming all things - all! - sprang forth by chance!
The Glory's faded, covered by Disdain,
whilst Innocence earns but a passing glance!
Life's been reduced to things molecular
-- devoid of Higher Purpose: nothing but
motes, going nowhere in particular,
dull, meaningless, cold clouds of dust ...
dead laws: entropic, gravitational,
indiff'rent to the objects they control ...

Poor man! -- robbed of his heart, deaf to God's call,
blind to God's moving, guiding, sov'reign role ...

A muddied puddle! -- such is all that's left:
reflecting nothing -- of True Sense bereft ...
