Conversational Prayer-Sonnets and Scriptures

May 9 ~

... He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU" ... If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself ...
Heb.13:5 (NAS); 2Tim.2:13 (NAS)

Be of Good Cheer - 3

And then a whisper from mine enemy
says (posing as my ego, Self, my me):
"I fell; I've sinned. And that's apostasy
and unbelief! God has abandoned me!
And e'en to say that is itself a sin.
By b'lieving it I've more offended Him
-- and now He's truly cast me out. I'm lost!"

Heed thou such thoughts, my soul, thou'lt pay the cost
of staying in their deadly cunning traps
-- their heaviness, which binds thee fast and saps
thee of all Life: of Christ! Absurd! Absurd!
when He doth clearly say within His Word:
The heart deceitful is, above all things!

Seek Him, my soul, till perfect peace He brings ...

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it? ... If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness ... Therefore thus says the LORD: "If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me ... for I am with you to save you and deliver you ... I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless."
Jer.17:9 (RSV); 1 Jn.1:8-9 (RSV); Jer.15:19,20,21 (RSV).
