... be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus ... in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus ... make no provision for the flesh ... Kill, then, what is earthly in you ... get rid of all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander ... clothe yourselves with tenderheartedness, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience ... Let the peace that Christ can give keep on acting as umpire in your hearts ...

To able be to love doth come by Grace!
But willing I must be to give no place
(accepting not as "me") the slightest thought
of unlove, else by it I will be caught!
Refusal is my work! What then is Thine?
Deliverance-replacement! -- to make mine
Thy Warmth (in place of coldness in my heart);
Thy Presence (forcing darkness to depart);
Thine Ego ('stead of my Self's caustic "I");
Thy Meekness (making gentle my harsh eye);
Thy Truth (instead of unlove's endless lie) ...

If first to unlove I agree to die,
then look to Thee to flood Thy Love through me,
by Grace I'm saved through faith! Love comes, praise Thee!
