Conversational Prayer-Sonnets and Scriptures

July 21 ~

LORD, I know that none of us are in charge of our own destiny; none of us have control over our own life ... O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. O LORD, correct me, but with justice; Not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing ... I know, O LORD, that a man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. Correct me, LORD ...
Jer.10:23,24 (TEV,NKJV,NIV)

Correcting the Frame

1. "Call them. Find out what is happening."
2. "Call them. Find out what the Lord doth do."

The point is this: That God sends ev’rything!
Why speak, then, from a human point of view?
Lo, nothing ever happens of itself!
God’s will - God’s hand - controls the earthly scheme
as here He forms His Children for Himself.
To not see thus is to live in a dream!

O Lord, correct my frame of reference!
Enable me to see what is unseen:
to have Thy view, else nothing here makes sense.
From man ... chance ... probability ... pray wean
my view! Thou rule! O, let me see Thy Face
and walk with Thee, whilst I dwell in this place ...

... we walk by faith, not by sight ... So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal ... For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen ... As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith ... live in him ... looking unto Jesus ...
2 Cor.5:7 (NKJV); 4:18 (NIV); Rom.11:36 (NIV); Col.2:6,7 (NKJV,RSV); Heb.12:2 (NKJV).
