There is a wisdom which we do teach to mature Christians, but it is not this world's wisdom ... What we do teach is the secret wisdom of God, which only God's own people can understand, a wisdom which until now has remained concealed, but which long ago before time began God framed and destined for our glory ... It is the wisdom of which scripture says: 'God has prepared for those who love him what no eye has ever seen, and no ear has ever heard, and what no human mind has ever thought of.' It is through the Spirit that God has given us the revelation of his truth ... A man who does not possess the Spirit refuses to accept the truths which the Spirit of God gives him. Such a man regards them as nonsense. He cannot understand them because a man needs the Spirit to rightly evaluate them ...

No human viewpoint rightly can explain
the workings/rationale of this domain.
A cosmic comedy, or strange charade,
or random aimless pointless brief parade
from cradle unto grave doth this life seem
unless by grace Thou dost reveal Thy scheme
-- that Earth Thou've fashioned as a school, a place
where Thou, through contrast, teach the human race
Love's Way. Or, putting it another way:
that Earth's a pottery where human clay
Thou shape and fire, refine to Thy design,
creating vessels for the Life Divine
-- and Thou art Love! This purpose let me see
in all life's happenings whilst Thou shape me ...
