Beginnings: 4 ~
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable
a new birth so that we live and hope for an inheritance that isn't destroyed or defiled and never fades away, as it is kept for you in heaven
You never saw Him, but you love Him. You don't see Him now, but you believe in Him. And a joy, unspeakable and wonderful, fills you with delight as you get what by faith you're looking for -- your salvation
As the outcome of your faith you obtain the salvation of your souls
1 Pet.1:3-4 (NAS,Beck); 1:8-9 (Beck); 1:9 (RSV)
Starting the Walk
And so I knew that for some reason He
loved me, had giv'n me opportunity
to be reborn and live eternally.
Then those through whom He had called me to Him
told me to read His Word, get it within
my soul, and each day seek to spend time in
His Presence, praying, talking to the Lord
and learn to hear His Voice, His verbal Word:
e'er closer draw to Him in sweet accord.
Such things seemed monument'ly high to me:
beyond my feeble capability.
"Look unto Jesus," they told me, "and He
will strengthen thee as thou press daily on!"
And so I started to lean on the Son.
