For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. -- For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him … "What is man … that thou dost set thy mind upon him, dost visit him every morning, and test him every moment?" … we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son … I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus …

It took me long to grasp that He doth send
all things that come to me, and tailors them
for good, conforming me unto His Son;
and that He'll take no rest till this is done!
And does the same with each child He doth call!
His wondrous aim? He wants to be their All:
until they look to Jesus for all things:
their thoughts, emotions, wisdom: till each clings
by faith to Him, accept that He controls
this world and loves God's children, loves their souls
e'en whilst He shapes, refines, chastises each
and doth them ev'ry moment test and teach!

Hence this Devotional. Its prime intent?
To help souls cleave to Him -- those heaven bent!
