Sing, Songbird!
We have, o'er Rhymes and Rhythms, dallied long ...
yet we resist desisting! Is that wrong?
Should Life not be a Sonnet spoken through
God's vessels? Don't we all to Him belong?
And is He not the Sonnet-Maker? ... Muse? ...
Source of all Music Writ? ... of each Sung Song? ...
of Love and Poetry ... of All Things True?
And Righteousness in us, is He not too?
Life's Book doth end, but not the Poetry!
The Word goes on forever, as do we
if Him we seek, the Songbird, and Him find
and cage Him in our cage, and there Him bind!
By Faith we hold Him to us:
yea, Lord, Thee!
Sing Thou Thy Songs through us eternally!
