Conversational Prayer-Sonnets and Scriptures

Devotions for the Midyear: 2 ~

... that I may gain Christ and be found in Him ... that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me ... I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do ... I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus ...
Phil.3:8,9,10,11-12 (NKJV); 3:12,13,14 (RSV)

Restating the Theme

The second half-year doth continue with
this theme: Now that the Lord has made me His,
my prime task is to press ahead until
I've made Him truly mine!
The Father's will
is that the Lord and I united be,
becoming of one spirit: He in me
and I in Him: in blessed oneness we!

To be found in Him is Security
-- in Christ Himself! He our Redemption is!
His Wisdom, Love and Righteousness He gives,
and Holiness, as we, through faith, let Him
become our Source, the Spirit we live in!

These truths in various ways the Sonnets stress.
Lo! with True Life in Christ God would us bless!

... he who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him ... Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption ... The fruit of the Spirit is love ... Now the Lord is that Spirit ... I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God ... clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus ...
1 Cor.6:17; 1:30 (RSV); Gal.5:22 (KJV); 2Cor.3:17 (KJV); Gal.2:20 (NIV); Rom.13:14 (NIV).
