Conversational Prayer-Sonnets and Scriptures

Preamble 4 ~

"For He says, 'Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there'" ... "precept upon precept" ... and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths ...
Is.28:10 (NAS,RSV); 2:3 (KJV)

A Little Here, A Little There

Again, why poems with only fourteen lines?
We pray each one some truth will capsulize!
The form doth force economy, confines
expression, sets before the reader's eyes
a single thought to dwell upon each day:
a portion of the whole on which to muse.
Lo! insights form the stepping stones, the way
to union. One at a time! – lest confus'd
the soul become. A little here, and then
a little there! Though in some cases we
restate the thought, use other sonnets, when
a point needs stressing -- like the thought that He,
our Lord, doth use, control each nuance of
this earthly life to teach the Truths of Love ...

Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech. Does he who plows for sowing plow continually? does he continually open and harrow his ground? When he has leveled its surface, does he not scatter dill, sow cummin, and put the wheat in rows and barley in its proper place, and spelt as the border? ... Behold, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher like him? ...
Is.28:23-25 (RSV); Job 36:22 (RSV).
