Postscripts for the New Year - 2

If then you have been raised to life with Christ, your heart must be set on the great realities of that heavenly sphere, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Your constant concern must be with the heavenly realities, not with worldly trivialities. For you died to this world, and now you have entered with Christ into the secret life of God ... You must clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ ...

Oft I forget that I'm just passing through
- that I am in this world but not of it -
must let go of my life and let Thee do
whate'er Thou will, and see all as a gift!
- see nothing from the human point of view -
for Thou control all things, Lord, that exist ...

And all things Thou point t'ward Thy wondrous goal
of forming Sons of Love, true Sons of Thine,
equipping each to play Love's selfless role ...

In all, thus, I should see Thy Hand Divine
-- see past and through mere human agencies
as men, unwitting, play their dramas out ...
