These titles have been deemed Rusty Staple Publications because that is just what they are! Many have somewhat rusty center staples. Until we've made new print runs, we're making the stock we have on hand available for a very modest donation: all five titles for a total of $7.50 (postpaid in USA). They are reviewed below.
1. Spiritualization of the Mind -- Part 1: Taking on the Mind of Christ
The dynamics of the regeneration process graphically defined and illustrated; 32 pages; 5-1/2 x 8 inches. The Foreword, by Frank Brooks, Jr., Th.D., reads, in part:
"This little volume helps clarify a truth that has been long impressed on my thinking by such passages of Scripture as Proverbs 23:7 and 2 Corinthians 10:5 -- the fact that the "fight of faith" (1 Timothy 6:12) is waged on the battleground of the human mind. Whatever we allow to control our thinking actually gains control of us. It is in our minds that God and Satan seek to influence us -- either to life and fulfillment or to death and despair. I have been spiritually stimulated though the author of this book ... I believe the reader who carefully reads these pages and carefully considers what actually is involved in the "spiritualization of the mind" will receive like stimulation. For here are presented graphically the components and processes involved in that fight of faith which continues so relentlessly in the psyche of the Christian."
The follow-up to the above title, greatly amplifying its theme and in effect serving as Part 2, is the much larger Christ - The Better Way Guidebook/Primer titled The ABC's of Putting On Your True You. To see its review, click here.
2. A Note on the Handling of One's Own Anger
A 32-page vest-pocket-size booklet: 3-1/2 x 5 inches. Tells how the Christian can overcome anger -- as well as its cousins: annoyance, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness and hatred (among others) -- through looking directly to the Lord Jesus for deliverance from such fleshly reactions, calling on Him to put His Love, Joy and Peace -- His Spirit -- into our minds and hearts. Points out that the Lord Jesus tests us through the situations of our lives, while teaching us that He is the way out of our negative thoughts and feelings.
3. Is That Thought from You, Lord?
A 32-page vest-pocket-size booklet: 3-1/2 x 5 inches. Guidelines for the Christian to help him distinguish the source of the thoughts and attendent emotions that come into our hearts and minds: in effect, a little handbook on spirtual discernment -- to discerning between the Lord's Voice in us and the voice of the adversary. Like the above Anger booklet, handy for carrying in the purse or pocket, and a handy reminder to have available!
4. "Something Has Gone Out of Our Marriage"
A 16-page, 5-1/2 x 8 inch booklet; illustrated. Provides some optimistic and practical guidelines for restoring Christian marital relationships from deep darkness ... overcoming Love's adversary and getting back into a right Spirit moment-by-moment. Makes the obvious point (obvious once seen!) that Love can never go out of our Christian marriages, because Jesus is always with us, is the personification of God -- and God is Love! Hence Love is as close as Jesus and always available to fill our hearts -- and literally cannot go out of our marriages. Which further means that any thoughts we have that tell us Love has gone out of our marriages are lying thoughts, and hence satanic -- and that our Lord is available to deliver us from them if we call upon Him to do so!
5. Dismay -- and Overcoming It
A 16-page, 5-1/2 x 8 inch booklet; illustrated. Identifies dismay as one of the worst enemies of the Christian, and one of the devil's favorite psychic weapons. Provides scriptural guidelines on how to overcome our dismays, no matter how fierce and pervasive the attack, through calling on our Lord. Makes the point that whatever our Lord commands us to do (such as to not be dismayed), we must do by calling on Him to do it through us. And He does!
